The Astralpool E 35 (35gm/hr) E-Series Salt Chlorinator is based on the older VX chlorinator from Hurlcon. These are a great-priced, all around good salt chlorinator. An affordable, robust chlorinator with a built in digital timer than can run the pump for up to 2 different time slots per day.

Outstanding quality

The unit primed quickly and ran smoothly first go. Controls are intuitive and easy to adjust. Energy use appears lower based on my recent bills. Noise levels are low — barely noticeable next to the pool area. Performance has been consistent and noticeably better than my old unit. Quiet overnight cycles are a huge bonus. The HX120 heats faster than I expected. Installation was straightforward and well explained in the manual. Build quality feels premium with solid fittings and seals. Flow rate improved straight away.
